Ulis Williams

Track and field athlete who won a gold medal at the 1964 Olympics in the 4x400 meter relay, setting a world record in the process.
He was the Track and Field News High School Athlete of the Year while at Compton High School, and a two-time NCAA Champions at Arizona State University.
Following his running career he entered academic administration at Compton Community College, where he worked for many years before becoming president of the school in 1996.
He was born in Hollandale, Mississippi.
His Olympic winning event was later made their by fellow American gold medalist Michael Johnson.
