He made his debut as an extra in the 1990 short film, Rhythm Nation 1914.
He has had film roles in the 1995 film Panthers and the 1997 film Little Boy Blue.
He had two children named Shamya and Raheem with his wife Amina Garner.
He acted alongside Adam Arkin in two episode of Chicago Hope in 1995.
