Professional catcher that was drafted by the Cincinnati Reds during the tenth round of the 2009 MLB Draft. He was a National League Gold Glove winner for the catcher position in 2017 and 2020.
He began his professional career playing for the Billings Mustangs of the Pioneer League.
He made his major league debut playing against the St. Louis Cardinals on April 3, 2014.
He lives with his wife, Sierra, and their two children.
Growing up, he was childhood friends with Gordon Hayward and Drew Storen.
