Shortstop who was drafted by the San Diego Padres in the 2014 MLB Draft. He was traded to the Washington Nationals in 2015 and made his MLB debut there in August 2015. He won a World Series Championship with the Nationals in 2019.
He played at Park Vista Community High School in Lake Worth, Florida. He went on to play college baseball at North Carolina State.
He played for the United States national team during the summer of 2013. He won the Brooks Wallace Award as the best college baseball shortstop of the year in 2014.
His father's name is Mark and his mother's name is Donna. He has a sister named Teal.
He and Hunter Renfroe are both former first-round draft picks of the San Diego Padres.
