He played for the Spokane Chiefs in the Western Hockey League from 1986 to 1989.
He went into coaching after his playing career was over.
He raised a daughter named Jordyn and two sons, Blake and Brody.
He was a member of the 2007 Stanley Cup-winning Anaheim Ducks that were led by goaltender Jean-Sebastien Giguere.
