Academic troubles ended his career at Pitt; taking a job as a janitor motivated him to try again, and he seized the opportunity to play at California University of Pennsylvania.
He grew up in Aliquippa, Pennsylvania.
Quarterback Matt Hasselbeck was his teammate on the Titans.
