Tom Sharpe
Novelist
English author who was known for writing the Wilt series and the books Porterhouse Blue and Blott on the Landscape.
He graduated from Pembroke College, Cambridge and moved to South Africa where he lived for a decade.
He worked as a history lecturer at the Cambridge College of Arts and Technology.
His father, Rev George Coverdale Sharpe, was a Unitarian minister.
His book Wilt was made into a film in 1989, and it starred Mel Smith.
