Tom Perrotta
Novelist
Italian-American author and screenwriter known for his novels Election, Little Children, and Leftovers. Election and Little Children were adapted into movies while Leftovers became an HBO series.
He studied English at Yale University before receiving a graduate degree in the subject from Syracuse University. His first book, a series of short stories, was published in 1994.
He's also written the novels Joe College, The Wishbones, and The Abstinence Teacher. His work with Todd Field on the screenplay for Little Children earned him a Best Adapted Screen Play Academy Award nomination.
He married Mary Granfield in 1991 and has two children.
Kate Winslet and Jennifer Connelly both starred in Little Children.
