Rhythm guitarist and co-founder of the swamp rock outfit Creedence Clearwater Revival who also played with the rock group Ruby.
His band, Spider Webb and Insects, was signed by Del-Fi Records, but they dissolved before coming out with an album.
He pursued a solo career, releasing albums like Excalibur and Myopia.
He was married to Tricia Clapper from 1980 until his death in 1990. His younger brother is musician
Jerry Garcia was a session musician on Fogerty's album Excalibur.
