Actor who became known as one of the Philippine film industry's brightest stars over the course of his illustrious, multi-decade career. He has won awards for his acting in many films, including Bilangin Ang Bituin Sa Langit (1989), The Debut (2000) and Honor Thy Father (2015).
He began his acting career at just six months old, paying Baby Jesus in the religious drama Ang Pagsilang ng Mesiyas (1952).
In addition to acting, he is an accomplished singer who released albums like Tirso Cruz III (1969) and Rock and Roll Music (1973) early in his show business career.
He married a woman named Lynn and has children named TJ, Bodie and Djanin. He is the uncle of Sheryl Cruz, Sunshine Cruz and Donna Cruz
He and actress Nora Aunor formed the ultra-popular cinematic duo commonly referred to as "Guy and Pip."
