One of the top pathologist of the nineteenth century. In 1832, he discovered a unique lymphoma disease that is now known as Hodgkin's disease.
He worked as William Allen's private secretary.
He became a pioneer of preventive medicine by publishing On the Means of Promoting and Preserving Health.
He married Sarah Frances Scaife in 1850.
Before he discovered Hodgkin's disease, James Parkinson made a breakthrough when he conceived of Parkinson's disease.
