She was a social worker prior to her career in law.
She is just the second African American female to be appointed as a judge in the High Court of South Africa.
She is the oldest of ten children.
She was the center of much controversy after finding Oscar Pistorius not guilty of murder and received personal threats from those who disagreed with the verdict.
