Retired USAF Lieutenant Colonel who served as Mission Specialist on STS 41-C Challenger.
He was in the New Jersey Air National Guard.
He and the crew of STS 41-C deployed the Long Duration Exposure Facility while in space.
He had one son with his second wife, and two daughters from a previous relationship.
He was a pilot like fellow astronaut Michael Collins.
