R&B and soul singer who was mentored by the great Rick James. She was know for her soulful vocals, for which she was given the title "Ivory Queen of Soul."
As a 10 year old, she sang at Jerry Lewis's son's wedding.
Her fans referred to her as Lady T. Her biggest hit, "Lovergirl," reached the No. 4 position on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 chart in March of 1985.
Her only daughter, Alia Rose Brockert, was born on December 25, 1991.
In 2009, she collaborated with Faith Evans on a song titled "Can't Last a Day."
