Nose tackle who played for seven NFL teams from 1991 to 2007, and won Super Bowl XXXVIII as a member of the New England Patriots.
He won the Florida state high school wrestling championship, before focusing on football while at Louisville.
A first round draft choice in 1991, he made both the Pro Bowl and the All-Pro teams in 1997, 1998, and 2001.
His father Ted Washington, Sr. played linebacker for the Houston Oilers.
As a rookie, he played for a San Francisco 49ers team led by Jerry Rice.
