Tatiana Tarasova
Figure Skater
Russian figure skating coach and adviser who, as of 2018, has coached more world and Olympic champions than any skating coach in history. In March 2008, she was inducted into the World Figure Skating Hall of Fame.
She began skating at 5 years old. She was a two-time Soviet national medalist until an injury forced her into retirement at 18.
She founded the Russian All-Stars, an ice ballet, in the mid-1980s.
Her father is ice hockey coach Anatoli Tarasov. She was married to famed pianist Vladimir Krainev until his death in 2011.
Some of her former students include Mao Asada, Ilia Kulik, Sasha Cohen and Evan Lysacek.
