He made his Super Rugby debut for the Blues in 2005.
He led the Junior All Blacks to a 2009 Pacific Nations Cup win.
His grandfather Vince Bevan played for the All Blacks.
His older brother, Jacob Ellison, became a prop forward for the Hurricanes.
