All-rounder for Hyderabad for 20 years who represented India in the 1975 Cricket World Cup.
He was picked to play for Hyderabad Schools in 1956 by selectors who were impressed with his fielding ability.
He coached the junior Hyderabad team for several years before moving to California to coach at the Stanford Cricket Academy.
His son Faaqir Ali died from a heart attack in 2000.
He represented India in the Cricket World Cup like retired cricketer Kapil Dev.
