She earned a Ph.D. in Biomedical Engineering and used to work in biomedical research.
Some of her published books are Creative Baking: Chiffon Cakes and Creative Baking: Deco Chiffon Cake Basics.
She has three children with her husband Guangyou Loi.
Both she and Shirley Wong are known for making kawaii food.
