Actress best recognized for her feature film appearances in Manchester by the Sea and Christine. She is also known for her recurring television roles including as Becky Flynn in Scandal and Nora Cafferty in House of Cards.
She graduated magna cum laude from Brown University. She started her career as a stage actress in New York and made her television debut in the 2001 television series Third Watch.
She was awarded the Obie Award in 2012 for her performance of Syvia in a production of Tribes.
She is married to activist and writer Brian Jones.
She appeared alongside fellow actress Sarah Bolger in the 2016 documentary Making Emelie.
