After serving as Microsoft's first general manager, this technology executive went on to found and head a company called Net Perceptions. He later became a researcher and teacher in the fields of leadership and business ethics.
He earned a bachelor's degree in mathematics from Drexel University and went on to receive his Master of Business Administration from Harvard University.
After working for Microsoft for nearly a decade, he entered the psychology Ph.D. program at the University of Minnesota.
He grew up in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. His marriage to Sherry Stern resulted in one child.
As general manager for Bill Gates' Microsoft Corporation, he repaired Microsoft's relationship with IBM during the early 1980s.
