Steven L. Bennett

Medal of Honor recipient for his bravery during the Vietnam War as a member of the United States Air Force from 1968 until his death in 1972.
Towards the beginning of his military career, he flew B-52s out of Thailand for close to a year before becoming a Forward Air Controller.
He has been additionally honored by having the ship MV Capt. Steven L. Bennett named after him.
He died when he was only 26 years-old but was still survived by his wife Linda and daughter Angela.
The Medal of Honor was presented by Vice President of the time, Gerald Ford, to Bennett's wife Linda.
