Named Ligue 1 Goalkeeper of the Year in 2008 and 2011, playing for Marseille. He became a member of the French national team in 2008, making his UEFA Euro debut in 2008 and his FIFA World Cup debut in 2010.
He began his youth career with Le Havre at age 16.
He helped lead Marseille to a Ligue 1 Championship in 2010.
He was raised with three younger brothers, Parfait, Charleroi and Congolese. All of them became soccer goalkeepers as well.
He joined Bacary Sagna on France's national team in 2008.
