Steve Gibson
Engineer
Software engineer and security analyst known for developing a light pen, a precursor to the stylus, used with Apple and Atari products in the early 1980s. He founded Gibson Research Corporation in 1985.
He got his first job at the age of 15, when he started working for the artificial intelligence lab at Stanford University. He then attended the University of California, Berkley.
He spent time in the mid-1990s writing for InfoWorld magazine. He created the firewall program Shields Up and the adware remover OptOut.
He grew up in Dayton, Ohio.
He started a podcast in 2005 with Leo Laporte.
