She won back-to-back gold medals in the 200 meter backstroke at the 2003 and 2004 European Junior Swimming Championships.
She won a gold medal in the 200 meter backstroke at the 2009 Summer Universiade.
She was born in Durham, England.
At the 2012 Olympics she lost the 200 meter backstroke to American star Missy Franklin.
