Nicknamed "The King of Gambling," he was an entrepreneur who had a monopoly on the Macau gambling industry for more than 40 years. As of 2011, he was the 13th richest man in Hong Kong with a net worth of over $2 Billion.
He attended the University of Hong Kong, where he was the first student from Class D, the lowest class level in Hong Kong, ever to be granted a university scholarship.
He invested in many types of businesses including tourism, shipping, and real estate.
He married his first wife Clementina in 1942.
He and the late martial arts icon Bruce Lee were second cousins.
