Known as the co-founder for the online retailer website Zady.com. She also co-founded geo-local culinary guide Foodspotter in 2009, which was acquired by OpenTable in 2013.
She earned her B.A. in English and art history in 2005 from Georgetown University. Her first major job following her graduation was as manager of buzz marketing for the New York Times in 2007.
In June 2014, she was named as a Young Global Leader for the World Economic Forum. She has served as a keynote speaker there on multiple occasions.
Her father is an Iranian emigre. She has named her mother as her personal mentor.
She and Rosalia Mera are both known for having founded their own retail brands.
