Indian singer who first entered the public consciousness with her performances on the show Satyamev Jayate. She is known to fans for her blend of rock, R&B and Romani music, as heard on songs like "Chayee Madhoshiyan" and "Dil Aaj Kal."
She got her start in the music business writing commercial jingles for brands like Tata Salt. She studied electronics engineering at the College of Engineering and Technology in Bhubaneswar.
Her performance of "Ambarsariya" for the film Fukrey earned her Star Guild and Screen Award nominations for Best Female Playback Singer.
She married composer Ram Sampath in 2005.
She contributed music to the 2014 film Khoobsurat, starring Sonam Kapoor.
