Stage actor and singer known for his roles in the Broadway productions of Waiting for Godot, Les Miserables, and Young Frankenstein. For his role as Jud Fry in the 2002 Broadway revival of Oklahoma!, he won a supporting actor Tony Award.
He studied at the University of Georgia on an athletic scholarship, but after being inspired by a concert given by opera star Jessye Norman and subsequently participating in a collegiate musical theater production, he transferred to the opera program at the Manhattan School of Music.
He received a Master's degree from Philadelphia's Curtis Institute of Music.
He was raised in Marietta, Georgia by a ballet dancer mother and a college football star father.
He performed with film and stage star Hugh Jackman in both the London and Broadway productions of the classic Rodgers & Hammerstein musical, Oklahoma!
