Shinichi Suzuki
Teacher
Teacher and violinist who created the Suzuki method of music education.
His father owned a violin factory, and Suzuki spent his youth teaching himself to play the violin by listening to musical recordings and imitating what he heard.
He advocated that children be taught the violin from an early age, and he opened a music school in Matsumoto that accepted all applicants.
He met and married Waltraud Prange in 1905.
He and Seiji Ozawa were Japanese classical musicians.
