She got her start as a child actress, appearing on the series The Woman Who Wants to Marry in 2004.
In 2014, she won the Buil Film Award and Director's Cut Award for Best Actress for her performance in Miss Granny.
Her parents are Shim Nam and Yang Mi-kyung. She is the youngest of her siblings.
