Shashank Subramanyam
Flute Player
Grammy Award-nominated flautist who is known for playing the bamboo flute. He has received many awards and honors, including The National Integration Award of the Spirit of Unity series.
He was a child prodigy and was already performing in front of large crowds at age six.
The BBC World TV did a documentary on Shashank entitled Destination Music.
He married Shirisha Subramanyam. She is a Bharatanatyam dancer. The couple has a daughter.
He has collaborated with musicians from all over the world, including John McLaughlin.
