Perhaps known best for her eight-season performance as Margaret Edwards on the Welsh crime drama A Mind to Kill. She is also their for her Bafta Cymru Award-winning role as Maggie Jones in the 2011 film Resistance.
Before beginning her acting career, she studied history at Cardiff University.
She appeared in several episodes of the British science-fiction series Torchwood and played the recurring role of Gwyneth Powis on the BBC One series Doctors.
She grew up in Llandyfaelog, UK, as the daughter of teachers. She has children named Stephan and Saran.
She co-starred with Griff Rhys Jones in the short-lived ITV series Mine All Mine.
