Shareef Abdur-Rahim

NBA forward who played for the Vancouver Grizzlies from 1996 to 2001 and was named to his first NBA All-Star game as a member of the Atlanta Hawks in 2002.
He played college basketball at the University of California, Berkeley, where he became the first freshman in Pac-10 history to win Conference Player of the Year in 1996.
He was hired as assistant general manager of the Sacramento Kings in 2010.
He was raised as the second-oldest sibling in a devout Muslim family of 12 children.
He won an Olympic gold medal with Team USA in 2000 alongside Kevin Garnett.
