Center fielder known for his speed and throwing arm who debuted for the St. Louis Cardinals in 2009 and was part of their 2011 World Series championship team.
He played college baseball at Florida State, and his breakout season came as a sophomore when he hit .427, stole 49 bases, and strung together a school-record 40-game hitting streak.
He was selected by the Cardinals in the fifth round of the 2006 MLB Draft.
He has a daughter named Tinley.
He played alongside slugging first baseman Albert Pujols on the Cardinals.
