Shane Jones

After serving as a Member of the New Zealand Parliament and as New Zealand Minister of Building and Construction, this Labour Party politician was appointed his country's Ambassador for Pacific Economic Development.
Upon completing B.A. and M.P.A. degrees from Auckland University, he studied at Harvard University's Kennedy School of Government.
In 2014, following a series of scandals, he ended his political career and began working as a diplomat.
He was born and raised in Awanui, Tai Tokerau, New Zealand. He later married Dorothy Pumipi.
In 2013, he was defeated by David Cunliffe in an election for Leader of the Labour Party.
