Hawaiian surfer known for winning events like the Rip Curl Pro and the Billabong Pro. He surfed on the World Championship Tour for a total of eleven years.
He was a student at Konawaena High School and started out riding bodyboards.
He was given a standing ovation by other surfers in the 2005 documentary "Solid: The Two Days That Teahupoo Blew Minds."
His father, Patrick, was a professional actor and stunt double. His mother, Susan, was a bodybuilder.
He appeared with Poison frontman Bret Michaels in the 1998 film "In God's Hands."
