Notable for his gold medal-winning performance at the 2010 Asian Games as as member of the Bangladeshi Men's Cricket Team, this bowler made his test debut against England in 2005 and his One Day International (ODI) debut versus Kenya the following year.
After training at the Bangladesh Institute of Sports, he played for his native country's Under-19 cricket team in the 2004 Cricket World Cup.
In 2012, he began playing for the Khulna Royal Bengals.
The son of a banker, he spent his youth in Narayanganj, Bangladesh.
Hossain named champion Pakistani cricketer Wasim Akram one of his idols.
