Perhaps most well known for his portrayal of Sam Giancana in the miniseries The Kennedys, he is also notable for his recurring role as Ben MacRae in Les Rescapes and for his starring role as John Sullivan in the French television series Largo Winch.
He began his acting career in his mid-thirties, making his television debut in a 1988 episode of L'Amour avec un Grand A.
In 2014, he portrayed Principal Welch in the Nickelodeon TV movie Santa Hunters and in 2015, he played the recurring role of Judge Roy Parker in When Calls the Heart.
He was born and raised in Quebec, Canada, and he later married Gwen Gnazdowsky.
He played the father of Joseph Gordon-Levitt's character in the 2011 feature film 50/50.
