Social media star who has gained fame for his career in Italy's Serie A, including for Lazio since 2011. He won the Coppa Italia with the club during the 2012-2013 season.
He began his youth soccer career in Chur 97's youth academy in 1998. He made his pro debut with the senior squad in 2003.
He won the 2017 Supercoppa Italiana with Lazio. He scored a goal in his 300th game with the club in December 2018, when he also served as team captain.
He shares one son named Lian and one daughter named Lea with his wife Sandra.
He and fellow midfielder Marco Parolo have served as co-captains for Lazio.
