Triathlete
German long-distance triathlete who was crowned the winner of the 2014 Ironman World Championship. He previously won the Ironman 70.3 World Championship in 2012 and 2013.
He began developing a passion for the triathlon at age 8 and participated in his first at 12.
He had the second-fastest bike split at the 2012 Ironman World Championships despite getting a flat tire.
He got married in 2016.
He and Mirinda Carfrae are both Ironman World Champions.
