British winger who played for Chelsea F.C. from 2005-2010 before he was loaned to several other teams. He signed with Manchester City from 2012-2015 and was subsequently loaned to West Bromwich Albion and Aston Villa. He signed with Celtic in 2016.
He began his youth career with Bath Arsenal, playing for the Bristol Rovers from ages nine to fifteen.
He participated in the 2012 Summer Olympics, helping Great Britain's national team defeat the United Arab Emirates 3-1 in a July 29 match.
Born and raised in Bath, Somerset, England, he grew up with brothers named Martin and Jake who also play sports professionally. He became engaged to long-term girlfriend Helen Flanagan; they have two daughters named Matilda and Delilah. They welcomed a baby boy named Charlie in March 2021.
He and Jordan Henderson both played for the England U21 team in 2011.
