Folk Singer
Member of the short-lived band The Journeymen during the peak of folk music who released his best remembered single "San Francisco (Be Sure to Wear Flowers in Your Hair)" in 1967.
During his high school days, he was in a group called The Singing Strings and followed that performing in a doo wop group called The Abstracts.
His hit single "San Francisco (Be Sure to Wear Flowers in Your Hair)" peaked at #4 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart.
He was born in Jacksonville, Florida and died in Los Angeles, California.
He co-wrote songs with Mike Love when they were a part of the new version of the band The Mamas and the Papas.
