Creator of Pokemon who founded the video game company GameFreak, Inc. His videogames Pokemon Red, Green, and Blue later became a popular animated series and a film franchise.
He became interested in arcade games early in his childhood and started playing them instead of going to school.
A passion for insect collecting was blended with his love of video games, thus forming the foundation for Pokemon.
His father was a car salesman and his mother a stay-at-home mom.
Shigeru Miyamoto, the designer behind the Super Mario and The Legend of Zelda games, also helped on the development of Pokemon.
