She met Rembrandt while traveling through Amsterdam with a company of painters.
She was of a much higher social class than Rembrandt, but pushed to marry him as soon as possible anyway.
She married Rembrandt in 1634, and had one child that survived into adulthood.
She was once the model for several of Rembrandt's portraits.
