Wife of the renowned Indian mystic Ramakrishna. She is called the Holy Mother by members of the Ramakrishna Movement.
She had mystic experiences, like seeing a ray of light that followed her everywhere, starting from early childhood.
She taught her followers how to practice meditation and value the purity of the mind above all else.
After her husband's death, she led the spiritual movement for another three decades.
Her Ramakrishna movement influenced some of the 20th century's greatest thinkers, including Leo Tolstoy.
