Sabine Schmitz
Race Car Driver
Professional race car driver and television personality known primarily for being the first and only female race car driver to win the annual 24-hour race at the Nürburgring circuit. She was given the nickname Queen of the Nurburgring.
She began her professional racing career in 1996.
As a professional driver, she represented BWM and Porsche. She won more than 3 professional races during the late 1990s.
She was born in Rhineland-Palatinate, Germany. Although she was the only one to continue on professionally, she had two sisters that also had experience racing cars.
Much like her, Danica Patrick made her own history becoming the only woman to win an IndyCar Series race in 2008.
