He was team captain at Melbourne's St Kevin's College.
He was nominated for Bachelor of the Year by Cleo magazine in 2005.
He married Tara Duggan and previously dated Mary, Crown Princess of Denmark.
He and Adam Goodes have both won the prestigious Bob Skilon Medal.
