Religious Leader
Salvadoran Jesuit priest who was assassinated in 1977 before the civil war began, thus becoming a martyr for his cause.
He was recruited into priesthood by Archbishop Luis Chavez y Gonzalez and trained at the seminary of San Jose de la Montana.
He was one of the main subjects of the 1989 American film, Romero, directed by John Duigan.
His nephew, Orlando Erazo became the parish priest in El Paisnal in 2005.
He was a good friend of Archbishop, Oscar Romero.
