Famous as the frontman and bass player for the British rock group Spacehog, he is equally well known as the former husband of actress Liv Tyler.
In the mid 1990s, after performing together in the Leeds Parish Church choir, he and his brother Antony co-founded Spacehog.
His most their Spacehog track is the international hit song "In the Meantime" (from the 1996 album Resident Alien).
In the second year of their five-year marriage, he and Liv Tyler welcomed a son named Milo William.
He and Sweeney Todd guitarist Nick Gilder both performed with popular British glam rock bands.
